Target Audience

This is a one-day intensive Linux course designed for IT Support Engineers, Helpdesk Technicians and anyone looking to gain basic Linux skills for troubleshooting and support tasks.

This course is ideal for those who are new to Linux but want to build their technical skills for day-to-day support roles in an IT environment.

Attendee Requirements

  1. Basic Computer Knowledge:Understanding of computer hardware and software; familiarity with operating system concepts (e.g., what an OS does, file systems, processes); basic knowledge of how to navigate a computer using graphical user interfaces (GUIs) like Windows or macOS.
  2. Familiarity with IT Support Roles: A basic understanding of IT support tasks, such as troubleshooting software or hardware issues, is beneficial. Some prior experience with helpdesk tools and customer service in an IT context would be advantageous, but not strictly necessary.
  3. Interest in Learning Command-Line Operations: An openness to learning command-line tools and their use in system administration. Though the course is for beginners, a willingness to work with the terminal will help participants get the most out of the course.
  4. Basic Networking Knowledge (Optional, but helpful): Knowing simple networking concepts like IP addresses, subnet masks, and DNS can be useful when dealing with network-related issues on Linux systems, though the course will not focus heavily on networking.
  5. Access to a Computer and Virtualization Software: The course involves setting up Linux on a virtual machine (e.g., VirtualBox or VMware). Participants should have access to a computer with sufficient resources to run these programs.
  6. No Prior Linux Experience Required: As the course is beginner-level, no previous Linux experience is necessary, but an understanding of the concepts above will ensure a smoother learning process.

These prerequisites are not strict, and the course is designed to be accessible to IT support engineers or helpdesk technicians with little to no Linux experience.

Customised Linux with Networking

Live Online -  February 2022

“It was very positive. This course was 4 days but covered a semester worth of work if it was done in college. The labs were relevant and delegates were provided the lab/coursebook for further study and practice after the course finished. GuruTeam's course was excellent and provides a deeper understanding of the architecture and how it all works. The hands-on aspect was very helpful as it helped solidify the concepts as I went along."

“The experience was complete for me. I like how the training was sequenced - the slides organization, the examples and explanations and then the exercises. Time for exercises and support by the Instructor was great plus answering the questions and going out for answers and coming back with examples as brilliant. I loved how much I refreshed and how I learned and got inspired to improve stuff at work.”
